Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Are there any other breeder(s) that you would recommend? There are plenty of breeders I would also recommend if I do not have what you're looking for. Imperial Black Bullies or 318 Bullies would be two kennels I would highly recommend. Their dogs are beautiful natural born athletes.

  2. What does my puppy come with?
Your puppy will come with their shot records (dewormed every 2 weeks since birth - 1st and 2nd set of vaccines), microchipped, a blanket with mother and siblings scent, soft rubber chew toy, stuffy chew toy, rawhide free bone(s), bag of training treats, a few potty pads and a baggy full of their puppy food. You puppy was raised with Puppy Culture, AviDog, ENS and ESI. They will have been on potty pads since 3 weeks old and kennel training begins around 6 weeks old. If you purchase your puppy with breeding rights they will come with their papers in hand, if purchased as a pet I will hold their papers until proof of spay/neuter is presented between 18 and 24 months old.

  3. Are American Bullies good family dogs?
American Bullies make wonderful family dogs. They are a companion breed. However this does go without saying that children should ALWAYS be supervised when around dogs, of any breed. Learning your dogs body language can be a life saver. That said, American Bullies love their family, extended family and even the mail-man! Again, with proper socialization - these dogs are wonderful family dogs.

  4. I am allergic to dogs..
American Bullies are not "hypo-allergenic" and I could not recommend them if anyone in your family -that will be living with the dog- is allergic.

  5. How much maintenance goes into taking care of an American Bully?
American Bullies are fairly easy when it comes to grooming. I use a "Groom Ninja" on our adult dogs and brush then out once a week or every other week in the winter months. We bathe our bullies at least once a month. PLEASE keep in mind that just because dogs have short coats it does not mean that they shed any less than breeds with long coats.

  6. How big do American Bullies get?
American Bullies come in a range of sizes. Pocket, Standard, Classic and XL. I will link the UKC standard for American Bullies here and the ABKC standard here (scroll to the bottom of the page for Pocket, Classic and XL links)

  7. What is the average life span of an American Bully ?
American Bullies typically live between 9 and 12 years old. If your American Bully is not kept on a proper diet and is overweight or malnourished, expect the lifespan to be much shorter. Keeping your American Bully at "pet weight" or "conditioned" can extend their lifespan. Extra weight does no justice for your dogs joints, health or lifespan. A well-bred Bully is probably going to outlive those that come from BYB's or puppy mills.

  8. How much is an American Bully?
American Bullies can range anywhere from $200 up to $10,000+. Our puppies start at $2,500. Please keep in mind that papered American Bullies typically do not go for less than $1,000. You may see some with that 10k price tag, it does not mean that the more you pay the better the dog is going to be. Most of those selling dogs for that price do not care about their dogs health and are usually those that are breeding dogs that do not fit the breed standard. I call them "greeders" because they are money chasers. The dogs are usually deformed and have massive amounts of health issues, not living longer than a few years -- usually suffering the whole time.

  9. Do I have to show my dog?
Puppies sold as pet only are not required to be shown or health tested.

  10. How much should I feed?
All of our dogs (pocket to XL) are fed 4 cups total a day, you will need to read the recommend feeding requirements on the food you choose to feed your puppy. We rotate between quality food brands for our adults and LoyalLife puppy food to our puppies and expecting mothers. Please be sure to find out what works for you, some dogs have slow metabolisms while others have crazy fast metabolisms. If your dog has a lazy day be sure to adjust their food, typically less during feeding time, and if they've had a super active day be sure to adjust for that as well and feed a little bit extra. Treats should be accounted for as food as well, if you did a training session please do not give you puppy extra food for their next meal.

  11. Exercise requirements?
American Bullies, from my experience, differ dog to dog when it comes to their energy requirements. A few of my dogs are lazy lugs and would much rather spend their days napping and sunbathing while others are my wild child(ren). That being said my lazy dogs could do just fine with 30 minutes to an hour of exercise per day and be satisfied while my more active dogs would need 1-2 hours of constant running around before they’re is ready to come in and take a nap. **There is a section in my questionnaire that will ask you what kind of energy level you're looking for!**

  12. What is the best living situation for an American Bully? (Types of homes - yards)
I think this would depend on each individual dog. I would definitely recommend a fenced in yard for any of my puppies or something with acreage where they can run around freely, again it all depends on the individual dog. Please do not be discouraged if you do not have a fenced in yard - I am not one of those that will decline you a puppy for not having a fenced in yard.

  13. Are American Bullies aggressive?
The breed as a whole is not aggressive. There are some lines that have produced Dog Aggressive (DA) and Human Aggressive (HA) dogs. None of my dogs are DA or HA. I pride myself on how friendly and family oriented my dogs are. Please remember that American Bullies did stem off of the American Pit Bull Terrier [and other breeds], which were bred to be DA, and this is why some lines can have the above mentioned issues. My dogs will alert to strange animals or people in their territory but will not be an aggressor.

  14. How long have you been breeding this breed? Why is this the breed for you? Have you worked with other breeds?
I've been involved with the breed since I was 10 years old. I got my first American Bully in 2016 after my grandfather was brutally murdered and the breed has just become the center of my world ever since. I had my first litter in May of 2021. I’ve been involved in the breeding world for much longer than that though. There are a few breeders that I talk to daily and we toss around ideas, tips, tricks and have good conversation. If I have any questions they’re the first people I go to. Many of them are seasoned breeders. I have dabbled in Pembroke Welsh Corgi’s but never had a litter. I do plan to own a few once we are more settled in a permanent home - all will be pets.

  15. Are you a member of the local breed club?
Unfortunately, we do not have a local breed club. The end goal is to move into an area that in more involved in dog sports/shows so that we can show the world what our dogs are capable of.

  16. Do you show your dogs? How often? Have the parents won any awards I can look at?
We are not in an area currently that allows us to show our dogs, again, once we move we plan to be much more involved in the show/sporting world. I have thought about hiring a handler as well but I’ve heard one to many horror stories of stolen/neglected dogs. Our dogs do not lack in temperament at all and would make some well rounded show dogs.

  17. Are both parents here? Can I see them?
Typically we have both parents on site, for visitation purposes, if the stud we use is close enough we try to have him at our home if buyers want to physically see both parents. However that is not always the case as we do outsource our studs to not bottleneck our program OR if the stud owner is not available to bring the stud to our home during visitations. Any males that we use we can FWD videos/pictures, health records, as well as any results from health testing done and their pedigree. We allow visitors starting at 5 weeks old.

  18. Where are the puppies being raised?
Every litter born in our care is raised in our home, our mother dogs are placed in a whelping pen 2 weeks before she is due to ensure she is comfortable with that area. Our puppies are raised with a mixture of Puppy Culture, Avi-Dog, ENS and ESI.

  19. Are both the Sire and Dam registered? Can I see the papers? All of our breeding dogs are registered. Papers and Health Testing results are readily available for viewing to serious buyers only. Our dogs are registered with one or more of the following registries: ABKC, UKC, USBR.

  20. Is there a pedigree for the puppies I can look at?
Absolutely. Inquire about our puppies and we would be happy to send that information over, or you can view each dogs pedigree by viewing their profiles on our website.
  21. What are the inherited defects in this breed?
You can find all inherited defects listen here: https://ofa.org/chic-programs/browse-by-breed/?breed=AB If you have any further questions or want an more detailed description please contact us.

  22. What health screenings have been performed on the parents? Can I see the results?
When of age (2 years) we have all of our breeding adults OFA certified. Our goal is to have Embark, Hips, Elbows, Patella, Cardiac, and Spine completed as well as Embark tested prior to breeding. Minimum testing on our adults would be Embark and OFA Hips/Elbows.

  23. Why did you breed this litter?
We breed to better the breed. All of our breeding are planned out months/years in advance. We breed for even tempered dogs, excellent health and  well rounded structure first and foremost. Each breeding we do we have hopes of keeping a legacy piece. Our goal is for the next generation to always be better than our last.

  24. Is there a sales contract? Can I see it?
Yes, we have multiple different contracts depending on what fits your needs best. We offer Full, Limited, Co-Own and Guardian Home contracts. Our contracts are fully loaded with expectations for both parties, and can easily be edited to fit each individuals needs/wants.

  25. What guarantees do you provide? What happens if I can’t keep the dog?
We offer a 3 year health guarantee, you can review in detail our guarantee by reading over any of our contracts. If you cannot keep your puppy it is outlined that we have first right of refusal, as we will always take back any production of ours. We stand behind our dogs.

  26. When can I take my puppy home? Our puppies are available to go home anytime after 8 weeks old. This allows for proper socialization and time for their immunity defenses to build up. There will be instances where we will keep back 2 or 3 puppies to allow them to grow out, possibly up to 6 months or more. Once we make our pick(s) the remaining pupp(y)(ies) will be listed in our availabull section.

  27. Do you have references I can call? We do! if you’d like to get in contact with any of them I have a list of previous puppy buyers that have given the okay to be listed as a reference. We also have a list of people who have known us for many, many years that can vouche for how we treat and handle our dogs care.
